The Introduction

I love makeup. The End.

Hmm...ok bad start. Let me elaborate.
Growing up, I wanted to be many things. I went to college to become a fashion designer, but due to my incapability to sit still long enough to actually sew, I dropped that idea like a hot potatoe. Then I decided to start a singing career. But after making a demo and finding out, that I was not exactly Whitney Houston, I quickly lost interest. It wasnt until the manager of a beauty boutiqeu hired me, because she loved the way I did my makeup, that I finally found my calling. Sort of like the butterflies you feel in your stomach, when you thought you found "The One".  No matter how many times the manager bitched and moaned about me taking "too long" with a customer. I couldnt help but pull any one with a face, into my consultation chair.

With the gratis items I got from working at the store, I started doing makeup for prom and weddings, outside of the boutique. And with some coaxing of a friend, I applied to the Humber College Cosmetic marketing program to further my studies. Doing makeup for customers definetly helps pay the bills. But just like every other makeup artist, I would love to one day see my work in a magazine or on TV. Over the past year, I made sure to be in every photo, fashion, and video shoot. Even if it means working for free or for limited amounts of money. Unfortately,  until Mariah Carey finally hires Me, I am forced to actually have another job.

But I love doing makeup. Even if it means being on set after ony 2 hours sleep. Or going straight to work after spending my whole day at a shoot....I will do what I have to do, to get where I see myself going. I've met many great people along the way, including models, photographers, producers, stylists and artist. And in this blog I will share all the joy, pain, and drama as I continue to claw my way to the top.

My name is Maria Rosella Simon, they call me MRS Makeup and this is my diary.
