My Creative Directorial Debut

Many photographers and models stick to taking pretty pictures. Who can blame them, everyone feels the need to always look their best. I love doing glamour shots and editorial photoshoots, but the  expertise of a makeup artist can only shine through by doing something more creative. I wanted my makeup and picture to tell a story.  Seeing Jason Warbuck's work on facebook I reached out to him for a collaberation.
The crying-girl  makeup look has been duplicated by so many artists. But some fail to tell a story. Most pictures depict the female as soft, and weak. Why do women always have to look so fragile?? I wanted the same concept but with an edge and some suspense.

On a sunny Saterday afternoon I met up with Jason of Fam*us Photography, who gave me free reign to do whatever I had in mind. He employed the help of the lovely Rachel Camille to put my idea together.

I dont think Rachel knew what she would be in for, as I applied loads of liner and blood.  We also lacked clothing, so we just worked with what she had on, a tank top and underwear.
The concept asked for Rachel to be transformed into a sexy lady killer, who found out her boyfriend cheated..

Starting of on the balcony Rachel quickly got into character,  and although the pictures were ok..the makeup called for a little more drama.

After a little more coaching Rachel warmed up and gave more variety and expressions.

For our last scene we rapt Rachel in a garbage bag, ready to cut her victim up in the bathtub. And she played that part very well. We also placed another model in the tub as the murder victim.

We had a phenominal shoot that day, and we did pretty well for 4 complete strangers, who had never met before. To this day, it is one of my favorite photoshoots, which we later entitled kill the competition.
