MRS Makeup loves...Kimmy Palmer

On my way out the door to an appointment today, I got a text saying the photoshoot has been cancelled!
Only 30 minutes before shoot time! The model in question was someone who is trying to get into the industry but has already broken rule #1. If you are going to cancel a shoot, give atleast one day's notice.
As a model one must realize that you are not the only one involved in a project. You must make sure to respect the time of all individuals involved. It is actions like these that can keep you from getting call-backs or can even get you black-listed.

This event reminds me of a model who is always there when needed, always on time and flexible enough to try anything. Ms Kimmy Palmer.

I first met Kimmy on the set of The Chilly show, my first shoot with Jennifer Conley and club promoter Chilly.  Petite and almost pint size, she is not your average model. Although she was the shortest of all the models present, she found a way of standing out.

I have had the chance to work with Kimmy on numerous projects, and she in-turn has hired me for private occasions such as her prom in 2010.

For my first creative photoshoot with photographer Jayson Warbucks, I instructed her to bring lots of black and leather. She arrived on set like a pro, with a duffel bags full of items.

And sat in my chair for 30 minutes while I experimented with my  makeup ideas.
After trying out some leather and chains ,we finally settled on a scarf that she craftidly made into a dress.
And as you can see the outcome was fun and unique.

Her proffesionalism goes beyond just taking cute pictures. Not only is she always on time, but she is reliable and always present, ready and able. One phone call and she's at a shoot when needed. This is a  hard quality to find in a model. Most up and coming models feel they need to be paid to be present at a shoot. But unless your a super-model, be prepared to do some heavy foot work first.
This is exactly why MRS Makeup loves Kimmy Palmer. She's dedicated and displays a hunger for her craft unseen in many. To contact Kimmy go to her facebook group: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=113097198748115 or simply add her as a friend http://www.facebook.com/kimmy.palmer1

In other news..I am celebrating the birthday of Photographer Jennifer Conley at the Empire Lounge this friday. Come party and network with me and other industry favorites, or stay home and follow me on twitter @I_AM_MRS and I will tell you all about it!
