I am also glad to report that Mrs Makeup is The Official makeup artist for Ghana's Most Beautiful Canada 2011.
It is my second year working for the pageant that has made its debute in Canada last year. I feel honored to be a part of this ones again.
Last Saterday I got to spend the day with all the girls for their promotional shoot.
Pageant president Constance Aniwaah was on site to coach the girls along. With her was lovely pageant guru Nana Yeboah. Known for turning down the Crown for Ms Ghana 2008 is back in the spotlight, and is Constance right hand lady as Assistant Co-ordinator for the pageant.
On a beautifull Saterday morning, mother nature was actually on our side, and we were able to get ready out in the open.
I didnt want the makeup to outshine the beauty of the girls. Gold, bronze and a hint of gloss was enough to enhance the faces of these lovelys.
I love the fact that these girls are all so different in appearance. From Petite to plus sizes, they are all uniquely beautiful. This photoshoot is not only for promotional use but the prize of the day is a photoshoot package Courtesy of Tosin photography. The judge for this shoot? Me ofcourse!
After the final group shot, it was time for the girls to change into their traditional african outfits.
Some of the girls went for elegant long dresses, while other ones opted for short mini dresses.
I noticed that the girls were very friendly amongst each other, which had me wondering if they forgot that this is indeed a competition. Although they do have a tough act to follow. Last years winner Nicole Afia Bortsi pulled out all her stops to win last years coveted crown.
In the evening gown competition Nicole tore off her gown to reveal a show stopping Ghana flag bathing suit, sending a crowd of over a hundred guest into a roaring frenzy!!
This years competition will be held at Rizzo Banquet hall on Saterday July 16th. Who will be this years winner? We'll just have to wait and see!
As for the winner of this days photoshoot, she will be announced next week, so stay tuned!!

I did not witness the actual shoot take place, because of being busy behind the scenes. I am a sucker for inner beauty, so judging the final edits is going to be supper hard. Some were more outspoken then others but suprisingly I didnt spot any Diva attittude from any of the pageant queens.
