Ghana's most beautiful, and Miss Africanada 2011

Its been a little hectic in my makeup world. So much that I havent had the chance to show you what happend at the GHMB 2011 pageant.

First I must give a special thanks to pageant co-ordinator Ms Constance  and Nana Yeboah (not pictured here because she was to busy running around) for putting the whole pageant together.

The venue was filled to capacity, leaving people to stand along the walls.
I think I went through a whole tube of lipgloss and half a pallete of blush that night, just to make sure the girls were at their best.  Backstage was overcrowded with family members who squeezed into our little space to insure the girls had everything they needed at hand.  Clothes were flying everywhere!!The show went at such a fast pace, I had limited time to work the camera.

But with the little bit of time I did have, I managed to capture the girls primping for show time.

My favorite dresses were  Nikki's  beautiful pink creation,
and Vanessa's short number (she had her image printed into the train!! Now thats Swag!)

Contestant Kelly had the most beautiful skin (makeup artists love good skin!), that combined with her costume almost made her look regal in her dress.

Contestant Marlece was the calmest of the bunch  and went for a more classic dress.

Becky`s bubbly personality matched her frilly dress perfectly, and her smile was always on point, on and off the stage.

But most suprising of all was miss DeeDee  (Dorinda), who completely came out of her shell from the last time we met. It was almost like she turned on a diva light switch!

I didnt have the chance to take pictures of all the girls but they all did very well.

The pageant was a huge success and while the girls all gave it their all, their could only be one winner:  Miss Vaness Otuo!!

Who by the way was also the winner of the Pageant photoshoot challenge may I add!
Thanks goes out to all the lovely contestants for choosing Mrs Makeup!

Back stage with the Miss Eternity 2011 finalists

The name screams pageant but, with a fushion of models, designers and fashion, its a model and designer competition like no one in Toronto has done before.  For the second year in a row, models compete in the Miss Eternity Fashion Showcase for the ultimate title of Miss Eternity 2011.

Invited to be one of the makeup artist on set for the promo shoot, I got to meet all the pretty models up close and personal. Some were shy and quiet, while others displayed moments of shear Diva-tude (not mentioning any names).

MafiaPhotography was on site as the photographer for the evening. Director/Co-ordinator Temo Primrose Gare was the best hostess, not only making sure the girls were fitted with the cutest summer dressed, but also insuring we were well fed.

Check out the work I did on these 3 lovely ladies Kaila, Hema and Kay

I had a great time, mingling with the girls, some of who are fairly new at modelling and others who have been at it for years. From what I have seen so far the competition seems fierce!
With a  such a diverse set of girls, the only way to decide a winner would be to go to the show.

Vanessa...GHMB 2011 Pageant contestant and Photoshoot Prize Winner

Vanessa is this years Ghana Most Beautiful Pageant contestant. Beating all of the contestants in their photoshoot challenge, she won an exclusive photoshoot with Tosin Photography and your truly.

With her outragous hairdo, I couldn't help but give her some Nicki Minaj style makeup. Black lips with solid gold eyeshadow, transformed her from girl-next-door to vixen in minutes.

Ones again Vanessa did a phenomenal job! I enjoyed working with her, as she gave me loads of picture options to choose from. Her best Picture will be featured on my website http://www.mrs-makeup.com/

While doing her makeup I found out that, Vanessa is not only just a pretty girl but a talented artist and dancer. Though she has hinted that for her talent, she will be performing a dance, it has yet to be set in stone. It is appearant that Vanessa has major model potential. Wearing an exclusive neck piece created by Uche Nwagbo has made Vanessa the new poster girl for Alter Ego Clothing.

To meet Vanessa , make sure to check out the Ghana's Most Beautiful Competition 2011, tickets are on sale now for $30. For more information go to  http://ghmbcp.ca/

The GHMBC 2011 photoshoot challenge winner is.....

When I found out that I had to choose 2 winners for the Ghana's Most Beautiful photoshoot challenge..I wanted to run for the hills!
How can I choose a winner when clearly, all these girls are absolutly beautiful?

It took me a week to go through atleast 50 images..50 times. These girls did an amazing job, making mine that much harder. But what I was looking for was someone who can do more then just look pretty.  So to break it down, I judged them solely on two criterias:

1. Posing. Going through the pictures I wanted to see variety in the frames. Every shot needed to be different then the last.
2. Personality. I was looking for what I call "Divatude". I needed the girls to show attitude, confidence and an ability to work the camera.

But in end  there could only be 2...
and the winners are....

VANESSA OTENG
Has this girl been watching America's top model??  With her perfect use of lighting, and super fierce poses she won hands down.

BECKY LIVINSTON

There wasnt a single shot that was quite the same with Becky. Standing up and even laying down on the floor in her cute outfit, she pulled out all the stops.

Congratulations go out to these two Diva's for giving the most variety in their photos, and not being afraid to try different poses.  Their prize includes an exclusive photoshoot with Tosin Photography and makeup done by yours truly!
